The B51 Project Space installation is located at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, a converted tobacco factory complex that currently houses artist’s studios, gallery spaces, and art foundations. The space presents a robust industrial infrastructure, including massive brick piers, raw concrete ceilings, and an array of pipes and electrical conduit. The current installation takes advantage of these existing features, which serve as a backdrop to the perceptual nature of the work. The installation attempts to bring to the forefront the phenomenological nature of our bodies in space, and our experience with the physical objects that surround us.
